Give Thanks

Count your blessings instead of your crosses;

Count your gains instead of your losses.

Count your joys instead of your woes;

Count your friends instead of your foes.

Count your smiles instead of your tears;

Count your courage instead of your fears.

Count your full years instead of your lean;

Count your kind deeds instead of your mean.

Count your health instead of your wealth;

Count on God instead of yourself. - Unknown

We hope that you have a nice Thanksgiving Holiday, and we hope you will be spending it with family and friends.

In what sea would you find the Isles of Scilly?

The correct answer would be "Celtic Sea".

Joshua participated in the school Geography Bee today. He did quite well, but did not come out victorious over everyone else. We are proud of him!

Lucky Number Seven?

Well, I guess it depends on what you mean by "lucky". Today my little guy turned 7 years old, but he also woke up with a yucky cough. He doesn't look like he feels very well.

He said he wanted an "Ice Cream Cake", so instead of making the cake filled with ice cream, he thought it was "AWESOME" to make one that looked like an ice cream cone. He chose the flavors of the scoops, and we actually flavored them to what they should taste like. I am glad that he is somewhat easy to please. Hope you had a Happy Birthday!

He is growing up

My little blonde haired, blue eyed boy is growing up. He is taller than me, his voice is changing and I can see a hint of whiskers. He turned 14 on Saturday and on Sunday was ordained to the office of a Teacher. What a great young man. Happy Birthday Josh!

Remember

Today is Veteran's Day. The older I get, the more Veterans I seem to know and the more I understand. My father is a Veteran. He received his draft notice just days before he was to marry my mother. I was born a little over a year later in an Army Hospital in Virginia while my dad was completing his basic training there. He served in Vietnam and doesn't ever talk about it. How thankful I am that he served his country and that he returned home safely. How thankful I am for all those who have served and didn't return home. The sacrifices are great, the rewards given to those who sometimes don't even care about the sacrifices are even greater. Let's remember all those around the world who have sacrificed for us.
