Merit Badges

Joshua received 2 more merit badges at a Court of Honor on Sunday. He was just a couple days short of being able to receive his next rank advancement. Now he gets to start thinking about his Eagle Project.

The lure of the Photobooks

I have been very busy since the end of October scanning all of the negatives that I could find from 1988 until the present. Once I had some of those scanned I started getting all of these offers from different companies to do Photobooks at very reasonable prices. This morning I began to think about what I have done in the past 2 months:
INKUBOOK- 117 page book of my Engagement/Wedding $4.99
120 page book for my daughter $4.99
120 page book for my son $0.00

WALGREENS 6- 20 page books for emergency kits $32.00

WINKFLASH 98 page book of 1996-97 $26.00
100 page book of 1994-95 $26.00
100 page book of 2008 $26.00

SNAPFISH 20 page book about my sweetheart $6.99

HOORRAY 56 page book for my son $7.99
47 page book for my son $7.99

This adds up to almost 900 pages and less than $150 for 15 books- average it out and that is about $10 a book...which I think is a GREAT DEAL for all of the memories I now have at my fingertips that I didn't have before (because I am so behind on my scrapbooking). I will continue to post on WWW.CREATIONSBYRELATIONS.BLOGSPOT.COM when I find a great book deal and you can get in on it too. I will post some other deals there as well.
Anyway, that is what has been keeping me busy the last few months.

If you don't enter, you can't win...

"If you don't enter, you can't win" has become like a mantra to me in the past year and I guess I have encouraged my kids to follow along. Elijah won a $15 prize today from another coloring contest. (I wish they had an age category for me so that I could win a coloring contest.)

Math Counts Participant "Problem Child"

Joshua participated in his first "Math Counts" competition. He probably enjoyed the fact that he missed school to participate. Great Job! Get it, PROBLEM CHILD?

Too much time on their hands

Brad and Noah spent several hours building this. They didn't have any instructions, but took their cues from a photo and a sculpture that we have. Pretty good imagination, but a little too much time on their hands.

Happy New Year!

Are you one who makes New Year's Resolutions? I started my list last week. This year I have many goals, and I believe that almost ALL of them are reasonably attainable. I am finishing up scanning the negatives from my mission. I miraculously scanned all of the negatives I could find from the time that Brad and I got engaged until the present...except one roll I cannot seem to locate. After I finish with the mission, I will say goodbye to the scanner and cross that off of my goals to accomplish this year. WHEW! Here we go 2009- I have high hopes for you.
