Elijah spent some time picking out glasses last week so that he will be able to see. We will let you know what they look like when they come back next week.

Weekend away

It would be nice to be able to just take off and get away every couple of months, but that is not always how life works. Way back in February Brad and I booked this room at the Anniversary Inn- and last weekend we got a break from all of the craziness, and me starting my new job. It was nice to sleep in! (I thought it funny that they spelled Hawaiian wrong on the key.) The waterfall shower was an interesting element.

Mustache Bash

This is the year that Josh will turn 16- and he knew that he was entitled to a birthday party. At the beginning of the year he announced that he wanted a "surprise" party. I told him that because he announced that...it probably wouldn't be a surprise. But, being the 'cool mom' that I am (he he), I set out to try and make it happen. We got him to give us a list of friends to invite and things he would want to do at the party- all under the assumption that it would not be a surprise. Then I came up with the theme- MUSTACHES!

We set out a pillowcase for everyone to sign so he could remember who came.

I made chocolate mustache pops- a big hit! Everyone seemed to have a great time! Josh was definitely surprised and his birthday isn't for about 3 more weeks.

64 Merit Badges- on his way to Eagle!

Our family decided to do a service for my brother Andy. He has been receiving Merit Badges for around 20 years, but has not had them secured to a sash. We encouraged Andy to find as many as he could and then we attached them to his sash. We also had to do alot of research to find which ones he was missing and purchase them. He now is proud to wear his sash with his uniform and display 64 merit badges. We also are encouraging him to work towards the rank of Eagle. He is already planning his Eagle Project.

We finally found out that the Mormon Message that Valesca and Joshua are in has been released. Josh was in Seminary today when they showed it, and he realized that he was on the screen. Both of them are in the scene where there are lots of kids on the bus. You may have to watch it frame by frame to see Valesca on the left (standing next to the window), but Josh is on the right next to the window on the aisle that the main girl is on.

Asking and Answering

This is how Valesca "asked" to the Bingham Ball. The note reads: I'd be floating on air to go to Bingham Ball with you. Then she put notes in each balloon, but to find out who was actually asking him,he had to look on the bottom of the soda cans that the balloons were attached to.
Josh answered "Ya", it would be SWEET to go to the dance with you!

Elijah finally earned his Wolf badge, 1 Gold arrowpoint and 5 silver arrowpoints. He has a little more time to earn more arrowpoints. Congratulations!
