What a wonderful Father's Day!

We spent a wonderful morning at a Sacrament Meeting where Russell M. Nelson was the presiding authority.  Sitting next to him was M. Russell Ballard and next to him was the Bountiful Temple President.  The two men from the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles spoke for a few moments, but the rest of the meeting we heard from a missionary returning from Ghana, his brother who was leaving to Chile two days later, and the rest of his family who were called to be Mission President (and family) in Oregon.  It was a great meeting!  We enjoyed being with them at their home afterwards, shaking hands and making sandwiches with Elder Ballard.

Josh was ordained an Elder in the Priesthood by his Father.

 SURPRISE!  The big white envelope came much quicker than anticipated...exactly seven days after submitted, to be precise.

We had only a few hours to scramble and make phone calls to invite people to come and share this exciting news with us!

 Valesca was able to call home for 10 minutes to share this moment with us.

 He will be serving in the Argentina Comodoro Rivadavia Mission.

Ward Christmas Party

We always write to the missionaries at our Ward Christmas Party.  Look how they take up a whole wall of the gym now!  Elijah dressed as a wise man for the program.

Here are the boys who will be turning 12 in the next year.  Elijah was asked to speak about how he could prepare to become a Deacon.

Iron Chef

Our Young Women had an Iron Chef competition and I was lucky enough  to be a judge- those dishes were YUMMY!

Oration

He was chosen to be the concluding speaker in the Primary Sacrament Meeting Program.  He wrote his talk and did a wonderful job.

Stake Missionary Prep Class

Valesca started attending our Stake Missionary Prep Class last year.  She got Josh to start going with her.  These young people voluntarily attend each Sunday morning at 7:30 am.   See if you can recognize Josh in the video.

Spending the week at EFY

Both of the boys had a good time at EFY this year.  Noah said that it was the "Best week of my life!".
