Yoda Cake

Elijah, Brad and his brothers had to make a cake (no female help allowed) for our Blue and Gold Cub Scout Banquet, and Elijah ultimately decided on a Yoda Cake. (First he really wanted to make a ping pong table cake.) Everyone there got to vote on what cake they liked the best...and there were some really cool ones- an iphone cake, a green bay packers helmet, elmo and many more. Ultimately, Elijah ended up the winner!!!!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!!
(Not sure who the sad faced boy in the picture is.)
* Yes Melissa, I gave some suggestions of HOW to do the cake and I made them practice with the frosting and tips before actually doing it on the cake, but they did the whole thing themselves!

Rank Advancement

Elijah went to the Court of Honor with us on Sunday and is our newest family photographer. Noah received his Tenderfoot rank advancement and is on his way to earn his 1st and 2nd Class in the very near future.

A Sweetheart of a Dance

Saturday was the Sweetheart Dance for Valesca. Since it was a girl's choice, we didn't get a picture of Valesca and Nick that evening. The morning was spent having breakfast at our home. Lots of FUN!

Who dropped the ball?

Two weeks ago we made arrangements for Elijah to have tubes put in his ears again. On Friday, I realized (too late) that I had not heard from anyone about the time that we needed to be in for his surgery. I woke up at 6:30 this morning to call the Surgical Center and find out when to come. SURPRISE! No one from the doctor's office had scheduled our surgery- no wonder we hadn't received a call. The office called us at 7:30, nurse apologizing profusely, and asked if he had eaten yet-NOPE- then get over to the surgical center right away. So, we are there at 7:50, but there is no formal paperwork, so we had to wait until 10:00 for everything to be put through. Elijah is wanting a drink or food and he is getting more nervous. (poor guy) So grateful for the gentleman who let Elijah go before him since his surgery was very short. All went well and we were home by 11:40. I am not very happy with the situation, but I am happy that it is all over for today. (Knock on Wood)
