Family Vacation Part 2

We spent several hours at the Experience Music Project both listening to and playing music.
We had a few LOUD jam sessions.

We tried playing instruments we may have never tried playing before.

Most of the time I couldn't be in the booths longer than to take pictures because the noise level was so high!

This is a 35 foot music cyclone made from 600 guitars and other instruments. There was also a Science Fiction Museum that was interesting. We aren't really fans of Avatar, but we enjoyed the Battlestar Galactica and space exhibits.

Family Vacation- Part 1/2

In reality, we visited these next two temples before we arrived in Seattle- so I had better show them before we go any farther in our vacation adventures.
This is the Columbia River Temple located in the Tri-cities area of Washington. I think that it has an Asian feel in its architecture.

This is the Seattle temple. Everything around is so GREEN...a very different feel from the desert that we live in.

Valesca was so enamored with all of the "green" that she announced that she was going to live there some day.

Family Vacation- Part 1

Our first stop was the Spokane Temple.

In Seattle, we visited the Olympic Sculpture park down by the waterfront...mostly because it was early in the morning and nothing else was open yet.
They had some interesting sculptures- my favorite was a much larger than life typewriter eraser.

We all enjoyed the Science Center and loved the interactive exhibits and the IMAX movie about the Hubble Telescope.

They had a butterfly house and immediately after walking in, the butterflies landed on Joshua' s yellow shirt.

Valesca's funnest shirt that she found in the gift shop.

Youth Conference

I was blessed to spend 3 days at Utah State University with our awesome Young Men and Young Women. We had loads of fun watching a movie, going swimming, dancing and falling on my "behind", doing Aggie games, having a testimony meeting, attending workshops and hiking from campus to the temple and then on to a meeting at the tabernacle. I didn't get much sleep, but it was fun!
