"Called to Serve"- the past 24 hours

Valesca asked me to go to the temple with her in the morning.  She spent most of the rest of the day packing.
Somehow she had room to spare in her luggage, so she just put her carry on in this suitcase for now.
We had PUDDING AND ICE CREAM for dessert before we went to the church to be set-apart.
We arrived at 9:00 pm and had no idea that we wouldn't be home until after 10:30.  There were two sisters set apart and we heard from the Stake Presidency, then they were officially made missionaries, then the mothers were asked to bear testimony.
Valesca and I had companionship study in the morning and we made her a spanish "Plan of Salvation" visual for her to take.
We checked the boys out of school and headed to Iceberg in Orem.

I had to share a shake with Valesca so we would be sure that it would disappear. (She keeps those things for a month or so.)
We stopped by the Provo Temple and took pictures and said our goodbyes.  I was totally fine until I said outloud "We have to hurry because we have to drop her off in 10 minutes."  We huddled together and Brad said a prayer...most of us cried.
They told us that we had a total of two minutes to get her out of the car and on her way.  Elijah had a hard time.
 Josh hugged his best friend.
 Noah gave a sweet hug.
 Mom did ok.
Dad did ok.
We entrusted our sweet Valesca to Elder Crawford...
and off she went on a wonderful adventure serving the Lord.

Utah- We Love Thee

Friday Elijah was in the Utah program put on by the fourth graders.  They played on their recorders...
Sang a song about the counties in Utah...
And did some square dancing.  It was a great program!

Star Wars Day- 2 months early this year

On March 4th we held our annual Star Wars Day, but we were 2 months earlier than usual because we won't all be together on May 4th.  Valesca got up early and made some awesome pancakes for everyone and even used our Darth Vader spatula.  I gave the kids some cool Star Wars hand sanitizer that they could use at school.  We decorated the house with everything Star Wars.  I even put our family Star Wars decals on our speeder.  We had homemade character chocolates and a yummy dinner of Yoda soda, Tatoo-weinies, Vader Taters and C3PO parts...with Wookie Cookies for dessert.  Then we made hoards of popcorn and spent the evening watching Return of the Jedi- it was a great day together!

It is PROM time again...asking and answering

This time of year, every time the doorbell rings in the evening, you wonder what you will find when you open the door.
.Last night we found a HUGE fortune cookie.
